Rupat Lasindo Jaya Welding Workshop is a welding service business whose production activities are influenced by facility layout. The initial layout showed long material handling distances, resulting in inefficient workflow, longer production time, and suboptimal space utilization. Therefore, a layout redesign is required to improve efficiency and productivity. The layout redesign aims to produce a more optimal facility arrangement using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and method the Graph method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using a process flow map, from-to chart (FTC), activity relationship chart (ARC), and activity relationship diagram (ARD). Material handling distances were calculated using the rectilinear distance method. The analysis results indicate that the initial layout had a total material handling distance of 1411.8 distance units. The proposed Systematic Layout Planning layout reduced the distance to 599.2 units (57.56% reduction) and the Graph method to 628.8 units (55.47% reduction). Systematic Layout Planning is considered the most optimal alternative as it produces the shortest distance. The proposed layout is expected to improve material flow, reduce backtracking, and enhance workshop Las Rupat Lasindo Jaya efficiency and productivity.
