Leg muscle power is the ability of muscles to produce maximum force in a short time and plays an important role in supporting karate performance, especially when performing kicks. One form of training that can be used to increase leg muscle power is plyometric split squat jump training. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of plyometric split squat jump training on increasing leg muscle power in karateka at Dojo Fajar Sari. This study used an experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The study was conducted at Dojo Fajar Sari in February. The study sample consisted of 18 karateka aged 9-18 years old who were obtained using the total sampling technique and divided into two groups using the ordinal pairing technique, namely the intervention group given split squat jump training and the control group given standard exercise. Training was given for 6 weeks with a frequency of 3 times a week. Measurement of leg muscle power was carried out using Vertical Jump before and after the intervention. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in the intervention group with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05) with a percentage increase of 14.49%, while in the control group there was no significant increase with a p value of 0.195 (p>0.05) with a percentage increase of 0.86%. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a p value of 0.030 (p <0.05), which means there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group after the training period. Thus, it can be concluded that split squat jump plyometric training is effective in increasing leg muscle power in karateka at Dojo Fajar Sari.
