Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in developing students’ character so that they possess not only academic competence but also positive attitudes and behavior. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education as a foundation for character development among Mathematics Education students. The study employs a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach, using data obtained from books related to Islamic Religious Education, character education, and personality development. The findings indicate that Islamic values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, perseverance, accuracy, trustworthiness, and respect for others can be applied to the academic life of Mathematics students. The implementation of these values through learning activities, assignments, group work, and interactions within the university environment can contribute to developing students’ character. Islamic Religious Education can also provide students with important values for carrying out their social and professional responsibilities.
