Fever is one of the health complaints commonly experienced by the community and is generally treated through self-medication using over-the-counter drugs available at pharmacies. However, the limited public knowledge regarding the selection of appropriate drugs, correct dosage, and proper usage can potentially lead to irrational drug use. Therefore, effective educational efforts are needed to improve public understanding related to self-medication for fever. This study aims to determine the role of education using the leaflet method in increasing the knowledge of pharmacy visitors regarding self-medication of fever medicines. This research used a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach. The respondents in this study were pharmacy visitors who met the inclusion criteria and were willing to participate. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge before and after providing education through leaflets. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively and analytically to determine changes in the respondents' level of knowledge. Based on the hypothesis test results using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, a Z-value of -5.083 was obtained with a significance level of < 0.001 (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed). Since this significance value is less than 0.05 (p < 0.05), H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. This indicates that the use of leaflet media has a significant effect on the use of fever medication among visitors at Kinanti Farma Pharmacy.
