<![CDATA[Gold investment is gaining popularity among the Indonesian public, including in the Bekasi Regency—an industrial area characterized by a diverse workforce. Understanding of the psychological and behavioral factors driving the intention to invest in gold among populations in industrial-urban areas remains limited. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and herding behavior on the intention to invest in gold, as well as to analyze the role of financial risk tolerance as a mediating variable in this relationship among the residents of Bekasi Regency. A quantitative method was employed using a survey approach via an online questionnaire distributed to 170 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with SmartPLS 4 software; the analysis involved outer model testing (covering convergent validity, discriminant validity, and construct reliability) and inner model testing (covering R-square values, model fit/SRMR, and path coefficients) to test seven research hypotheses. The results confirm that both financial literacy and herding behavior positively and significantly influence the intention to invest in gold. Furthermore, financial risk tolerance positively and significantly affects the intention to invest in gold and mediates the relationships involving financial literacy and herding behavior. Consequently, this study implies that enhancing financial literacy and strengthening risk management education are crucial for fostering rational decision-making regarding gold investment.]]>
