BPJS service provision in the Emergency Department (ED) requires patients to have a good understanding of the system to ensure a smooth service process; however, some patients still lack an understanding of BPJS service procedures. This study aimed to determine the impact of BPJS service education on the level of understanding among emergency patients at Muhammadiyah Hospital Bandung. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study sample consisted of 81 respondents selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and Chi-Square tests. The results indicated that the majority of respondents rated the BPJS service education as inadequate (53.1%) and also demonstrated an inadequate level of understanding (53.1%). The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.021 (p < 0.05), signifying a significant relationship between BPJS service education and patient understanding. Improved BPJS service education leads to better patient understanding of BPJS services in the ED.
