Improper disposal of expired medicines may pose health risks and environmental contamination, highlighting the need for public understanding of the DAGUSIBU principle. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge of DAGUSIBU and the practice of returning expired medicines to health facilities in Bulukunyi Village, Polobangkeng Selatan District, Takalar Regency. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed involving 42 household heads selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability and were analyzed using Spearman rank correlation. The results showed that 61.9% of respondents had moderate knowledge, 28.6% had good knowledge, while only 16.7% properly returned expired medicines to health facilities. Statistical analysis demonstrated a strong and significant positive relationship between DAGUSIBU knowledge and medicine return practices (r=0.619; p<0.001). These findings emphasize the importance of continuous education and accessible medicine collection facilities to promote safe and responsible medication management in the community.
