Customary law is an important element in Indonesian culture and plays an important role in maintaining the identity and sustainability of local culture. The Buay Nyekhupa clan, which originates from Liwa, has rich traditions and customary law values, which have been passed down from generation to generation. The importance of the process of internalizing these values in the younger generation is becoming increasingly apparent, especially in facing the challenges of globalization and modernization that can erode cultural values. Through formal and non-formal education, participation in cultural activities, and support from community leaders, it is necessary for the younger generation to understand and appreciate their cultural heritage. However, challenges such as low interest among the younger generation and the influence of foreign cultures remain obstacles in this process. Therefore, this article emphasizes the importance of collaboration between education, the people, and normative figures in efforts to preserve customary law values for future generations.
