Overweight adolescents are at higher risk of experiencing dysmenorrhea due to the accumulation of body fat, which can increase prostaglandin production and hormonal disturbances, causing strong myometrial contractions. Dysmenorrhea treatment consists of two types: pharmacological and non-pharmacological. One non-pharmacological treatment is consuming a combination of pineapple juice and honey, which have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and natural analgesic properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of pineapple juice and honey on dysmenorrhea in overweight adolescents. This was a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test without a control group. The population consisted of 24 people. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling with a sample size of 18 people. The research instrument used a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) sheet. Statistical testing in this study used a paired sample t-test, which yielded a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating that there is an effect of the combination of pineapple juice and honey on dysmenorrhea in overweight adolescents in RW 04, Kelurahan Baru, East Jakarta. Further research is recommended to compare the effectiveness of the combination of pineapple juice and honey with other non-pharmacological interventions in the management of dysmenorrhea in overweight adolescents.
