This study aims to analyze the role of Quiz.Zep through the Witchcraft Game in optimizing students’ focus during Qur’anic learning on the Bayati style in Class VII C Tahfiz at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta. The study focuses on students’ ability to sustain attention while reading the material, understanding questions, selecting answers, and completing quizzes through learning-by-playing activities. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observations of game-based learning, students’ activities while answering quiz questions, student responses, and learning documentation. Data were analyzed using Saldaña’s first-cycle and focused coding to identify patterns of attention, engagement, responses to questions, and learning experiences. The findings show that the Witchcraft Game helped sustain students’ attention through question-based challenges, immediate feedback, and a competitive atmosphere that encouraged continuous engagement. Students did not merely play; they were required to read, understand Bayati material, concentrate on questions, and determine appropriate answers. These findings indicate that Quiz.Zep can integrate playful learning and formative assessment while directing students’ attention toward specific Qur’anic learning tasks.
