This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of moringa leaf meal (Moringa oleifera) in basal diets on the blood lipid profile of male arab chickens. This study used 200 Arab chickens intensively raised for 8 weeks. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, but 12 blood samples were used for blood lipid profile analysis, comprising 4 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments given were control (T0), 1% moringa leaf meal in the ration (T1), 2% moringa leaf meal in the ration (T2), and 3% moringa leaf meal in the ration (T3). The observed variables were blood cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL. We analyzed data from 12 samples using analysis of variance (ANOVA). This study showed that using 1%-3% moringa leaf meal in the starter-grower phase of the Arab chicken diet did not significantly affect cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL, or HDL concentrations compared with the control treatment. However, there was a tendency (P<0.1) toward decreased blood cholesterol in Arab chickens. It can be concluded that the use of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaf meal in arab chicken starter-grower rations at levels of 1-3% tends to reduce cholesterol levels and did not adversely alter triglyceride, LDL, or HDL concentrations of total blood plasma of arab chickens.
