This study aims to identify factors influencing dividend yield in financial and non-financial companies (five manufacturing sub-sectors) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2022–2024 period. Dividend yield is a measure of the return on investment received by investors through dividend distribution. This indicator can also be used to assess whether a high dividend rate reflects a healthy company or indicates the risk of a dividend trap. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, with a total sample size of 153 companies meeting the research criteria. The analysis method used was multiple linear regression with the help of EViews version 12 software to examine the relationship between independent variables and dividend yield. The independent variables analyzed included profitability, firm size, retained earnings, firm age, leverage, growth opportunity, price-to-earnings ratio, and dummy variables for the financial and non-financial sectors. The analysis results showed that firm size, leverage, growth opportunity, and price-to-earnings ratio did not significantly influence dividend yield. Conversely, profitability, retained earnings, and firm age were shown to have a positive and significant effect on dividend yield. Furthermore, this study also found differences in the characteristics of the influence of each of these variables between the financial and non-financial sectors. These findings indicate that companies with high profitability, large accumulations of retained earnings, and greater maturity tend to have a better ability to consistently distribute dividends to investors.
