The aim of this research is to determine the effect of carburizing using kusambi charcoal on the hardness of Excavator Bucket Tooth. An excavator is a piece of heavy equipment that is often used in various types of projects to carry out various projects such as loading and unloading asphalt, digging soil and is also used in the mining world for digging. This research was conducted at the Kupang State Polytechnic campus from May to June 2024, using tools such as a furnace, electric grinder, microscope, hardness testing equipment, 60 mesh sieve, carburizing box and the materials used were an excavator tooth bucket and kusambi charcoal powder. . This research uses 2 tests, namely Vickers hardness testing and microstructure testing. In the Vickers hardness test, the average hardness value for each media variation was the best with a hardness treatment of 130 grams with an average hardness value of 36 VHN. Meanwhile, in the microstructure test with 130 grams of pearlite treatment, the pearlite structure increased and the grain size began to even out along the penetration, although there was still a lot of ferrite on the pearlite side.
