This study aims to determine the influence of the social environment, self-control, and financial behavior on the consumptive lifestyle of Generation Z in Palembang. The study was conducted among students at Bina Darma University using a quantitative approach through a survey and questionnaire distribution. The research sample consisted of 200 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression, including partial and simultaneous tests. The results indicate that, when analyzed partially, the social environment has a positive and significant effect on the consumptive lifestyle, whereas self-control and financial behavior do not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, the social environment, self-control, and financial behavior have a significant effect on Generation Z’s consumerist lifestyle. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the social environment still influences consumption behavior, even though the tendency toward a consumerist lifestyle among Generation Z is relatively low. This situation highlights the importance of self-control and financial behavior in maintaining healthy consumption patterns.
