This study describes the use of visual media in Arabic language learning for ninth-grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun Indramayu and examines the benefits and constraints perceived during classroom learning in 2024. A descriptive qualitative design with purposive participant selection was employed. The study involved 64 students from two Grade IX classes, while data were generated through classroom observation, semi-structured interviews with an Arabic teacher and students, and documentation. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, conclusion drawing, and verification, with credibility strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that Smart TV-supported visual and audiovisual materials—pictures, infographics, animations, vocabulary items, sentence patterns, and simple dialogues—helped make content more concrete, sustain attention, support vocabulary recall, and stimulate classroom participation. Direct interview evidence also indicates that students experienced the lessons as easier to understand and more enjoyable than textbook-only instruction. Constraints included uneven speaker quality, internet instability, and potential distraction from online content. The study highlights that the pedagogical value of Smart TV depends less on the device itself than on purposeful content selection, cognitive load management, and integration with interactive classroom tasks.
