Abstract

General Background Machinery and equipment play a vital role in determining organizational productivity within the commercial noodle production sector. Specific Background Steam-generating vessels utilizing coal fuel are essential for supplying heat during the steaming, drying, and frying operations in these facilities. Knowledge Gap Irregular servicing protocols and unexpected mechanical breakdowns frequently cause extended machine stoppage, leading to substantial output target losses and compromised operational efficiency. Aims This study investigates appropriate servicing systems and calculates equipment readiness metrics to prevent permanent machine disruptions. Results Quantitative observation utilizing primary operational data revealed an 89 percent readiness metric, indicating an 11 percent failure probability for the steam-generating systems. Key mechanical issues identified include silica scale formation, component degradation from uncrushed coal, and hopper corrosion. Proposed solutions encompass daily to annual preventive schedules, regular water blowdowns of 244 liters to reduce dissolved solids, mechanical cleaning, and anti-corrosion coating applications. Novelty The research formulates a specific component replacement schedule strictly based on total minimum downtime calculations for industrial steam systems. Implications Implementing these scheduled preventive and corrective procedures minimizes operational stoppage, preserves continuous production flow, and significantly suppresses major repair costs. Highlights: Quantitative observation identified silica scale, hopper corrosion, and screw feeder degradation as primary breakdown causes. Calculating operational uptime versus standby periods revealed an 89 percent equipment readiness metric with an 11 percent failure probability. Scheduled component replacement based on total minimum downtime calculations significantly decreases machine stoppage and prevents production losses. Keywords: Minimum Downtime, Corrective Procedures, Preventive Scheduling, Steam Generation, Mechanical Degradation
