Abstract

Ideally, learning should be implemented to support the achievement of competencies and foster student literacy, using learning models, media, and other educational tools that are tailored to the learning needs. However, in practice, many teachers are still found to use conventional learning models, where students only acquire knowledge that is directly transmitted by their teacher. This results in students lacking a good understanding of mathematical problem-solving concepts, making it difficult for them to grasp arithmetic concepts. This research aims to analyze the influence of the Ethnomathematics-based Problem Based Learning model on Numeracy Literacy abilities. This type of research is experimental research. This research uses a form of research (quasi experimental). The quasi- experimental design used was a non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The population of this study was all class V of SD Gugus 2, totaling 148 students. The sampling technique uses random sampling. The data collection method in this research uses a multiple choice test method. The data analysis used is quantitative descriptive analysis with t-test. The results of this research obtained tcount of 2.051 and ttable of 2.011 (tcount>ttable). Based on the research that has been conducted, it is concluded that there is a significant influence of the ethnomathematics-based Problem Based Learning model on the Numeracy Literacy abilities of fifth grade students at Gugus 2 Elementary School. The implications of this research can increase the numeracy literacy of fifth grade elementary school students which has an impact on a more of mathematics.
