This study aims to determine the level of capacity and preparedness of rescue personnel in supporting Search and Rescue (SAR) operations at the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office. This research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The study population consisted of rescue personnel at the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, with a total sample of 50 respondents selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires using a four-point Likert scale and were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2021 and IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26. The data analysis included validity and reliability tests to ensure the quality of the research instrument. The results indicate that the capacity level of rescue personnel is categorized as high, as reflected by their physical fitness and well-developed technical skills through regular training. The preparedness level is also categorized as high, as demonstrated by personnel readiness, effective communication, coordination, and the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure. The findings further indicate that a high level of capacity and preparedness complement each other in enhancing the effectiveness of Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. Therefore, maintaining and continuously improving the capacity and preparedness of rescue personnel is essential to support professional, effective, and efficient SAR operations in responding to emergencies and disaster situations.
