This study aims to analyze the influence of the work environment and workload on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at the Lubuk Linggau City Social Service. The underlying issues in this study are the suboptimal work environment, fluctuating workload distribution, and employee job satisfaction levels, which can potentially impact performance. The study employed a quantitative survey approach. The population comprised all 65 employees at the Lubuk Linggau City Social Service. The sampling technique used saturated sampling, thus the entire population was included as respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with the aid of the SmartPLS application. The results indicate that the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Workload also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The results of the mediation test indicate that job satisfaction mediates the effect of the work environment on employee performance and the effect of workload on employee performance. These findings indicate that improving the quality of the work environment and effective workload management can increase employee job satisfaction, which ultimately impacts employee performance.
