Fund management is crucial for maintaining the intermediation function, stability, and profitability of Islamic banking. This study aims to map the development and trends in research on Islamic banking fund management during 2016–2026 using a descriptive bibliometric approach. A total of 985 articles were retrieved through Publish or Perish from Google Scholar, Crossref, and OpenAlex and analyzed using VOSviewer through network, overlay, and density visualization. The results identified five main clusters covering financial performance and financing, Islamic financing instruments and profitability, liquidity and financial stability, risk management, and financial innovation. The overlay visualization indicates a shift in research focus from fundamental issues, such as liquidity risk and profitability, toward contemporary issues, such as financial innovation and financial inclusion. These findings broaden the theoretical understanding of the increasingly multidimensional development of fund management research and provide practical implications for identifying research opportunities and improving fund management practices in Islamic banking.
