This study aimed to determine the effect of rice straw mulch application combined with cattle manure on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.). The research was conducted from February to May 2026 at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Graha Nusantara, Padangsidimpuan, using a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments, namely J0 (without mulch), J1 (rice straw mulch + 10 t ha⁻¹ cattle manure), J2 (rice straw mulch + 20 t ha⁻¹ cattle manure), and J3 (rice straw mulch + 30 t ha⁻¹ cattle manure), each replicated five times. The parameters observed were leaf number, number of bulbs per clump, bulb fresh weight, and bulb dry weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at the 5% level whenever a significant effect was detected. The results showed that the application of rice straw mulch and cattle manure had no significant effect on leaf number or the number of bulbs per clump, but significantly affected bulb fresh weight and bulb dry weight. The best treatment was obtained at J3 (rice straw mulch + 30 t ha⁻¹ cattle manure), which produced an average bulb fresh weight of 29.68 g and bulb dry weight of 25.24 g. These findings indicate that combining rice straw mulch with cattle manure at a dose of 30 t ha⁻¹ can increase shallot production through an improvement in bulb weight.
