Manual cleaning of truck air filters in workshops is time-consuming, reduces work efficiency, and may expose technicians to fine dust. However, practical and affordable electric motor-based cleaning tools specifically designed for truck workshops remain limited. This study aimed to design and develop a practical electric motor-based air filter cleaning tool suitable for truck repair workshops, and evaluate and compare the cleaning time of the developed tool at three motor rotation speeds (800, 1000, and 1200 RPM) with the conventional manual cleaning method. The results showed that the average cleaning time was 6.99 minutes for the manual method, 5.21 minutes at 800 RPM, 4.94 minutes at 1000 RPM, and 5.09 minutes at 1200 RPM. The 1000 RPM setting produced the shortest cleaning time and achieved a 27.46% reduction in cleaning time compared with the manual method. Therefore, the developed electric motor-based air filter cleaning tool demonstrates potential to improve cleaning efficiency for truck air filter maintenance. The results indicate that the developed electric motor-based air filter cleaning tool can reduce cleaning time compared with the conventional manual method, with 1000 RPM producing the shortest average cleaning time among the tested speeds.
