The Automatic Case Packer machine at CP2 of PT BG experiences the highest downtime, totaling 192.2 hours per year, which disrupts the smooth production of flour packaging. This study aims to propose an optimal preventive maintenance schedule using the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) approach. The methods applied include critical component identification through Pareto diagrams, analysis of failure and repair time distributions using least-square curve fitting and the Anderson-Darling test, as well as parameter estimation with the Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) method. The results indicate that the Turn Table component has an MTBF of 251.5 hours and an MTTR of 2.33 hours, while the Pick & Place component has an MTBF of 354.6 hours and an MTTR of 4.04 hours. The availability of each component is 99% for the Turn Table and 98.9% for the Pick & Place. Using the current company preventive maintenance schedule (576 hours), the reliability is only 12.3% for the Turn Table and 18% for the Pick & Place. Therefore, the proposed preventive maintenance intervals are every 240 hours for the Turn Table and every 336 hours for the Pick & Place, which are expected to improve machine reliability and prevent sudden failures.
