Digestive disorder (colic) is a condition commonly experienced by infants aged 0–5 months and is characterized by excessive crying without an obvious cause. The similarity of colic symptoms to other digestive disorders makes the diagnostic process difficult and still highly dependent on the experience of healthcare professionals. The problem faced at RSUD Dr. RM. Djoelham Binjai is the absence of a structured diagnostic support system, which may lead to differences in diagnosis and initial treatment. This study aims to develop a diagnostic system that can assist healthcare professionals in identifying colic in infants based on the symptoms experienced using the Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) method. The CBR method is applied by comparing the symptoms of a new case with previous cases to obtain a similarity value and determine the most appropriate diagnosis. The developed system provides information regarding the diagnosis of infantile colic along with initial treatment recommendations based on the case with the highest similarity level. Based on the test results, case K001, diagnosed as Functional Colic, obtained the highest Similarity value of 80.95%, categorized as Very Similar. Therefore, the developed system can assist in diagnosing infantile colic more quickly and consistently and support healthcare professionals in determining appropriate initial treatment.
