Emergency care is a crucial component of the healthcare system, demanding speed and precision in patient management. A nurse's rapid response time is a key factor in ensuring accurate triage assessment, thereby allowing patients to receive care appropriate to the severity of their condition. This study aimed to determine the relationship between nurses' response times and the accuracy of their triage assessments in the Emergency Departments (ED) of Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) in the Aceh Besar region. A descriptive-analytic design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study population consisted of all nurses working in the EDs of seven Community Health Centers in Aceh Besar; a total of 33 respondents were selected using the total sampling technique. Data collection instruments included observation sheets for response time and triage assessment accuracy. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of nurses (19 individuals or 57.6%) demonstrated a rapid response time (<5 minutes), and the majority (21 individuals or 63.6%) demonstrated accurate triage assessment. The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.033 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between response time and triage assessment accuracy. In conclusion, the faster a nurse's response time in handling emergency patients, the higher the accuracy of their triage assessment. Response time is a critical factor in improving the quality of emergency care services at Community Health Centers.
