Escherichia coli is a pathogenic bacteria that causes diarrheal diseases. Treatment of bacterial infections using antibiotics has the potential to cause resistance. Herbal plants are widely used as alternative medicines, including turmeric rhizomes and emprit ginger which are known to have antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of turmeric extract and ginger emprit on E.coli bacteria using the paper tape method. The antibacterial activity test was carried out by the method of dilution, diffusion and its combination effect with the paper tape method. The dilution test showed MBC results at a concentration of 25%. Disc method diffusion test to determine the best combination in inhibiting E.coli growth by combining extracts in ratios (1:1), (1:2), and (2:1). The statistical data show the best combination in comparison (1:2). The effect of the combination tested with the paper tape method showed that the combination of the two was indifferent, meaning that it did not affect each other.
