The Mitoni tradition is a seven-month pregnancy ritual that has deep roots in Javanese culture and is widely practiced by the Muslim community in Pasuruan, East Java. This study aims to analyze the Mitoni tradition through the integration of two main perspectives: Islamic Law (Ushul Fiqh approach based on the 'Urf Theory). This study uses a descriptive qualitative method based on field research, employing in-depth interviews with key informants, participatory observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that: First, the practice of Mitoni in Pasuruan has undergone a substantial transformation, where Javanese cultural symbols (such as es dawet, jenang procot, tumpeng robyong, and rujak 7 rupa) are integrated with Islamic religious practices, such as the recitation of the nine surahs of the Qur'an and Maulid Diba'. Second, from the perspective of Islamic Law, the Mitoni tradition meets the criteria for al-'urf al-sahih (legal customs) in accordance with the rules of al-'adah muhakkamah and al-ashlu fi al-asy-ya' al-ibahah. This rite is declared valid because it has undergone tanzih (purification from shirk and mystical elements) and serves to realize hifzh al-nasl (protection of descendants) and social good. This study concludes that Mitoni is a manifestation of legal and cultural acculturation that strengthens the religious identity of the Pasuruan people.
