The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the incidence of crime in West Java in 2018-2020 using panel data regression. The data used is sourced from the BPS Central Java website with the independent variables being the open unemployment rate (OUR), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), the percentage of poor people, total population, and Human Development Index (HDI). The results showed that GRDP, the percentage of poor people, total population, and HDI had a significant effect on the number of crimes, while the variable of OUR has no significant effect on the number of crimes. The government is expected to further promote the family planning program, increase economic activity, and increase security in an effort to reduce the number of crimes.
