This research examines the impact of the loss of the coal mining sector or what is known as extraction analysis in Jambi Province. The findings of this research show that the elimination of dominant economic sectors can have a significant impact on not only the mining sector itself, but also other sectors. The three major sectors affected apart from the coal mining sector if the coal mining sector is removed from the Jambi economy are the wholesale and retail trade sectors, not cars and motorbikes; the land transportation sector, and the coal industry and oil and gas refining sectors. Another important finding from this research shows that extracting the coal mining sector in Jambi Province is not the biggest cause of the decline in economic output. In line with the government's efforts to encourage green economy issues, the findings of this research inform that the government does not need to worry about a significant economic decline due to the extraction of this sector. The Jambi Province Input Output Table is a tool used to derive this extraction analysis.
