<![CDATA[In August 2022, the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of the young population in Jambi Province was recorded as seven times the TPT of the adult population and exceeded the national figure. This creates an urgency for the Jambi provincial government to reduce this figure. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the young population with unemployment status and the factors that influence it. By analyzing the August 2022 Sakernas data descriptively, the results show that the unemployed young population in Jambi Province are generally male, unmarried and not the Head of the Household (KRT) and live in rural areas. In addition, the majority of them have high school education and above, have never attended training, are not graduates of the last year (not fresh graduates) and have no previous work experience. Through binary logistic regression analysis, several factors were obtained that had a significant effect on the opportunities for young people in Jambi Province to become unemployed, namely gender, marital status, highest level of education completed, work experience, location of residence and characteristics of graduates. Young people who are male, have never been married/divorced, have high school education or above, have worked/have work experience, live in urban areas and are fresh graduates, are at greater risk of becoming unemployed young age.]]>
