The results of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) stated that 3 of the 5 provinces on the island of Kalimantan, namely North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan, are the main destinations for population migration. Indonesia, as a developing country, is in the process of manufacturing industrialization. In this regard, the manufacturing industry sector of Kalimantan Island has the second highest to its GRDP. Due to this industrialization process, the number of markets and the number of jobs will increase, thus triggering residents from other regions to migrate the area (Moomaw and Shatter, 1991). This migration flows causes the population to be concentrated only in certain areas, so it is necessary to control the distribution of the population. This study aims to analyze the spatial impact of manufacturing industrialization on the percentage of in-migration in districts/cities on Kalimantan Island, using the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. The results of this study indicate that the GRDP of the manufacturing sector and the average net income has a significant positive effect on all districts/cities on Kalimantan Island, while the number of workers in the manufacturing industry sector has a negative effect on several districts/cities on Kalimantan Island.
