This qualitative case study examines how integrating historical values from the Indonesian Proclamation shapes students’ character at SMK Karyarini Sleman. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with history teachers and student council representatives, supported by observations and documentation. The data were analyzed using condensation, display, and verification through source triangulation. The findings indicate that value-based history learning transforms historical narratives into practical character values. Internalizing the Rengasdengklok event and the Proclamation chronology enhanced students’ discipline, environmental awareness, and time management. Democratic values reflected in the discussions at Maeda’s residence and the collaboration during the 1945 Proclamation strengthened conflict-resolution skills, cooperation, and inclusive peer support. Overall, integrating historical values successfully fostered vocational competence, resilience, and practical patriotism. Therefore, integrating historical narratives into vocational learning can strengthen character education and prepare students to become globally competitive human resources.
