Local area networks (lan) in schools often face various problems such as limited connectivity, configuration errors, and ineffectiveness in meeting technology-based learning needs. This study aims to analyze and provide solutions to these problems through network design and simulation using cisco packet tracer, including assessing school network needs, designing appropriate topologies, configuring devices, and testing network performance. The methodology used includes collecting network needs data, designing simple topologies with static ip address configurations, and simulation testing to analyze latency, throughput, and stability of network connections. Simulations are conducted against usage scenarios that reflect school operational needs, such as internet access, file sharing, and large number of device connections. The results of the study show that the proposed network design can overcome the problems of unstable connections and configuration errors by implementing a more organized network structure. This study provides practical recommendations for schools to build and manage effective and reliable local area networks. Cisco packet tracer has proven to be an effective tool for designing, testing, and validating network solutions for educational environments.
