This study compares the news coverage of the train accident at East Bekasi Station published by Beritasatu.com and MetroTVNews.com using Robert Entman's framing analysis model. The study employs four elements of Entman's framing approach: (1) problem definition, (2) causal interpretation, (3) moral evaluation, and (4) treatment recommendation. The findings reveal significant differences in the construction of reality regarding the train accident incident. Although both media outlets reported the same event, their differing perspectives resulted in distinct emphases on particular issues. Beritasatu.com and MetroTVNews.com framed the event in ways that reflected their respective editorial approaches and priorities. The implications of these framing differences underscore the importance of media literacy among the public. Audiences need to develop the ability to critically analyze and interpret news content in order to understand how media framing influences public perception and shapes social reality.
