Indonesia, renowned for its cultural and religious diversity, embraces pluralism as a cornerstone for building harmony and justice. Pancasila, the state ideology, emphasizes unity and rejects discrimination, underscoring the role of pluralism in fostering inclusivity. Amid this context, the integration of religion and economy becomes pivotal. Despite perceptions of their dichotomy, economic activities often underpin religious practices. This research examines the strategies of KH. Ma'ruf Amin, Indonesia's Vice President and an advocate of Islamic economics, in harmonizing sharia economy with Indonesia's pluralistic society and advancing halal diplomacy. Using qualitative methods and library research, the study draws from Perbaikan Berkelanjutan (2024) and supporting literature. Findings reveal KH. Ma’ruf Amin’s three-pronged approach: enhancing sharia economy, promoting religious moderation, and leveraging halal industries for global diplomacy. The sharia economy has shown notable growth, contributing 46.71% to national GDP and elevating Indonesia in global Islamic economy rankings. Concurrently, religious moderation, rooted in Islamic wasathiyah (moderation), fosters tolerance and harmony, mitigating extremism. This approach aligns with Indonesia’s multicultural fabric, as reflected in the improved Religious Harmony Index. Finally, halal diplomacy positions Indonesia as a global leader, with initiatives such as the Halal Science Park and collaborations across sectors. These efforts enhance Indonesia's competitiveness in the $4.96 trillion global halal market. This research underscores KH. Ma’ruf Amin's holistic strategy as a blueprint for integrating sharia principles in pluralistic societies, paving the way for inclusive economic policies and global leadership in halal industries.
