The rapid development of the creative industry requires human resources with strong visual skills and technical competence in photography. One of the important aspects in photography is lighting technique, which plays a crucial role in determining the visual quality of a photograph. However, based on preliminary observations at SMK PGRI Ciawigebang, students’ skills in understanding lighting techniques and operating cameras still need improvement. Therefore, this community service activity aimed to improve students’ photography skills through training on photography and lighting techniques. The methods used in this activity included lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice sessions. The evaluation was conducted by comparing students’ photo results before and after the training using several assessment indicators such as photo composition, lighting techniques, visual creativity, and camera handling skills. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ ability to produce photographs with better composition and lighting quality. In addition, the training activity also increased students’ motivation and creativity in photography. Thus, photography and lighting training can serve as an effective approach to improve students’ competencies in multimedia and support skill development in the creative industry.
