In Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting was 21.5% and wasting was 8.5%. In West Sumatra,23.7% was stunting and 9.4% was wasting. In 2025, the prevalence rates in Padang were 2.52% for stunting, 2.53% for wasting, and 4.03% for underweight. In Nanggalo, 0.89% for stunting, 0.20% for wasting, and 2.51% for underweight. Parenting style is a factor influencing childhood nutritional issues, as it plays a primary role in meeting a child's nutritional needs. This study aimed to determine the relationship between parenting styles and the nutritional status of children under five in the working area of the Nanggalo Community Health Center, Padang City, West Sumatra. This was a quantitative study using a cross-sectional design with 48 respondents. The majority of respondent mothers were aged 20–35 years, had completed secondary education, unemployed, and had 1–2 children. The largest proportion of parents practiced a democratic parenting style, and the majority of the children had normal nutritional status. The study findings indicate a relationship between parenting styles and the nutritional status of toddler in the working area of the Puskesmas Nanggalo. Efforts to improve nutritional status can be pursued through education and by strengthening parental capacity regarding appropriate, balanced, and needs-based feeding practices.
