Official statistics can be used to identify variations in agricultural potential and support evidence-based policymaking. This study aims to describe food-crop conditions and classify 136 districts in Central Kalimantan according to their agricultural potential which proxied by agricultural land and business dimensions. Data were obtained from the 2023 Agricultural Census and included rice-field area controlled by individual agricultural holdings and the numbers of holdings cultivating rice, maize, peanuts, cassava, and sweet potatoes. Descriptive analysis and K-Means clustering were employed. The silhouette coefficient indicated that the two-cluster solution was optimal, while a four-cluster solution was also examined to provide more detailed commodity-based typologies. The two-cluster results showed that the first cluster had greater overall food- crop potential. The four-cluster solution revealed distinct advantages across rice, maize, and secondary food crops. These findings provide a basis for developing more targeted agricultural policies tailored to the characteristics and potential of individual districts.
