AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab munculnya persengketaan tanah antara perusahaan PT. Patria Kamoe dengan masyarakat Gajah Meuntah. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori konflik Lewis Coser, yang menekankan pada struktur sosial dimana konflik terkelola dengan baik oleh katup penyelamat yang fungsinya sebagai solusi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Adapun pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab terjadinya konflik sengketa tanah di Gajah Meuntah adalah perbedaan kepentingan terhadap tanah, akibat konflik beberapa tahun silam, pengelolaan dana gampong yang tidak jelas, perbedaan pendapat tentang sejarah gampong dan perusahaan, dan lemahnya fungsi pengawasan pemerintah terhadap pemberian izin HGU sebuah perusahaan. Dalam hal ini pemerintah sudah melakukan beberapa upaya untuk menyelesaikan sengketa, seperti melakukan mediasi di beberapa tempat untuk mencari solusi, melakukan pengukuran tanah, hingga pembuatan sertifikat tanah kepada yang berhak menerima. Konflik ini sudah relatif mereda, namun bisa saja sewaktu-waktu meletup kembali mengingat masih ada perbedaan kepentingan dalam masyarakat.Kata kunci : konflik, masyarakat, perusahaan.LAND DISPUTE BETWEEN COMPANY WITH COMMUNITY(Case Study: PT. Patria Kamoe at Gampong Gajah Meuntah, East Aceh).Abstrak The purpose of this study are for determine the cause of dispute land between the company PT. Patria Kamoe with the Gajah Meuntah community. The theory used in this study is Lewis Coser's conflict theory, of emphasizing the social structure in which conflict is well managed by the rescue valve whose function as a solution. This study uses qualitative approach with descriptive method. The method of data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the causes of land dispute conflicts in Gajah Meuntah are the different interests of the land, due to the conflict a few years ago, the unclear management of gampong funds, disagreements about the history of gampong and the company, the weakness of the government's oversight function on the granting of a company's business license. In this case the government has made several efforts to resolve the dispute, such as mediating in several places to find solutions, measuring the land, to making the land certificate to the rightful to receive. This conflict has been relatively subsided, but it could be at any time explode again considering there is still a difference of interest in society. Keywords: Conflict, Community, Enterprise.
