<![CDATA[Watershed management becomes an important effort for development and environmental sustainability . With the limited availability of land , accommodations for activities in rural areas will lead resulting in changes in land use . Sambong watershed located in Batang also experiencing the same problem . Utilization of open space is important as a critical watershed reduction category . The purpose of the study was to analyze the use of the appropriate region on the location of the study area using Geographic Information System application . The analysis showed that the watershed Sambong sloped ramps up with a rather steep with most having rainfall 2500-3000 mm / yr and soil type latusol . The results show that the overlay district is used as an area worthy of cultivation . However, please note that in this case the conservation management of the watershed that need to be balanced proportion between farming, buffer and protected areas.Keywords: watershed, land use , geographic information systems]]>
