Published by Universitas Jambi
Aim : The Journal of Geology Mengkarang (JoGM) is welcomes original research articles and relevant scientific review articles that address geological processes, Earth materials, geological resources, environmental challenges, and the application of geological sciences to sustainable development. The journal encourages scientific innovation and interdisciplinary approaches that support responsible natural resource management, environmental protection, and disaster risk reduction. Scope : 1. Dynamic Geology and Tectonics – Geological processes, structural geology, stratigraphy, tectonic evolution, and the geological history of the Earth; 2. Geodiversity and Geological Heritage – Geological landscapes, landforms, geological heritage assessment, geoconservation, and the sustainable management of geodiversity; 3. Engineering Geology – Geological investigations for infrastructure and construction, rock and soil characterization, slope stability, and geological conditions affecting engineering projects; 4. Environmental Geology and Hydrogeology – Geological aspects of environmental management, groundwater systems, groundwater contamination, seawater intrusion, water resources, and geological impacts of human activities; 5. Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation – Volcanic processes, geological hazards, hazard assessment, disaster risk reduction, and geological approaches to community resilience; 6. Geotourism – Geological tourism, geopark development, geosite assessment, interpretation of geological heritage, and sustainable geotourism management; 7. Energy, Mineral, and Coal Resources – Geological exploration, resource characterization, mineralization, coal geology, energy resources, and related geological assessments; 8. Exploration Geophysics – Application of geophysical methods to geological investigation, subsurface characterization, resource exploration, and environmental studies; 9. Geodesy – Geodetic measurements, deformation monitoring, spatial positioning, and applications supporting geological and geospatial investigations; 10. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial Applications – Geological mapping, remote sensing, spatial analysis, digital terrain modeling, and geospatial methods for geological and environmental assessment.
