Abstract

OD or open defecation is one of activity that influenced many aspects, it can pollute the source of drinking water, contaminate the crops , and the one  that causes many diseases that are related to GI (Gastrointestinal) tract infectious diseases. Even though in Subdistrict of Tarik many household already had  latrines, but not make the society become open defecation free, as in  Kandangan hamlet  which the percentage of OD is 35% at 2014  . The main purpose of this study is to evidently expose several internal factors that influence OD behavior in Kandangan Hamlet, village of  Banjarwungu, subdistrict of Tarik,Sidoarjo regency. This analytic study used cross sectional approach, with chi square to test the hypothesis. The population consisted of 1003 people that come from Kandangan Hamlet,  ,with  sample size 91 people determined through simple random sampling method, focused between  15-65 years old. Variable of this research consists of age, gender, level of education, and economic status, those variable considered  as the Independent variables and OD behavior as the dependent variable. The result of this study shows that age, level of education, and economic statu respectively  influenced  OD behavior in Kandangan  Hamlet, (p<0,05). While gender and habit were not influence the behavior of OD(p>0,05). Suggestion for this problem can be made through improvingt of promotion program regarding OD issues emphasizing the importance of latrines, recruiting health cadres that can giving understanding about the importance of latriney, helding latrine community gathering and giving credit system for building latrines as hope for improving level of ODF in the society.

Abstract

Nowadays, infertile incidences in young married couple are increasing and the women got unreguler menstruation cycles that pretend a Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) predisposition. Accretion of PCOS incidences coincide with accretion of junk food (JF) consumption life style in women. This study is description from some literatures of predisposition of JF consumption life style towards PCOS incidence accretion. JF is being PCOS predisposition because its refined carbohydrate increasing insulin resistance risk; high glucose-salts-fats ingredients disturbing hormones balance; JF is processed using partial hydrogenated oil; frying of JF using oxidized oil that producing radical damage of the cell; JF is fried using high temperature over 100° celcius that inducing aldehid and keton formation; JF is fried using over 4 times heating. Thus, importance of education about JF consumption and healthy foods in family must be done since the child has born; socialization of JF hazard in the household scale; education of JF consumption and healthy foods in the school; restriction of business permit in JF; restriction and regulation of business advertisement in JF; accretion of business tax in JF; tightening of public regulation about healthy life style.Nowadays, infertile incidences in young married couple are increasing and the women got unreguler menstruation cycles that pretend a Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) predisposition. Abstract

To determine acute Toxoplasma gondii infection in pregnant women, is of interest worldwide due to the risk of congenital toxoplasmosis. Ability to diagnose recently acquired infection in the pregnant woman and congenital infection in the fetus and newborn was improved. Interpreting on maternal serological screening tests by new methods  should not rely on a single sample test but need confirmatory testing through a nationally recognized reference laboratory if results of serological tests are positive.

Abstract

Ashitaba is one from many plant that contained flavonoid. Flavonoid is antioxidant that belong to phenols. If we compare between ahitaba and vitamin C, ashitaba have hundred times more effective than vitamin c and twenty-five more effective then vitamin E. Antioxidant may reduce cholesterol by inhibiting oxidation reaction so that cholesterol can be easily pass through the arteries and its plug. This research aims to know what is the influence of ashitaba (Angelica keiskei) assisting simvastatin  in lowering triglyceride levels in strain wistar white male rats (Rattus norvegicus) that in hypertriglycerid. The population on this research is strain wistar white rats (Rattus norvegicus), male, 100 g, 2 months age with health physical and total sample are 33 rats. The result from this research proved that there is no influence of ashitaba (Angelica keiskei) assisting simvastatin in lowering triglicyride levels in strain wistar white male rats (Rattus norvegicus) that in hypertriglycerid. It can caused by competituve reaction between ashitaba and simvastatin that they were blocking each other.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the influence of anti mosquito electric gas that consisted Allethrin to the weight and colour of the rats liver. This research used an experimental method with the post test only  control group design.  The subject of this research is male rats weight of 150 grams each and total there was 24 rats that were divided to 4 groups. The first one, the  control groups (PO) was not given any of the gas, the second one, group 1 (P1) was given the gas for 4 hours everday, the third one, group  2 (P2), was given for 6 hours and last, group 3  (P3) was given 8 hours everyday. After later, on  30 Th day, the rats were terminated and being put in a surgery to remove their liver. This data was analyzed using SPPS for windows version 16. To see the differences in weight between the groups, it was analyzed using anova, and  to obtain the discoloration of the rats liver was analyzed using Kruskal Wallis Test. From the statistic tests, it show that there is significant difference in weight and color of liver in the group that α ≤ 0,05. According Anova Test, it shows that there is a significant difference α = 0,034 and from Kruskal Wallis test α = 0,013. In the conclusion anti mosquito electric gas that consist Allethrin affects the weight and the color of rats liver.

Abstract

Acarbose is an oligosaccharide human made who is a competitive inhibitor acarbose and can inhibit the action of the enzyme α-glucosidase, causing a slowdown in the digestion of carbohydrate compounds. Purple eggplant skin is included in the flavonoid compound. Purple eggplant  skin as well as an antioxidant that can control blood glucose levels and prevent complications of diabetes. Purple eggplant skin contains flavonoid kaempferol and has the effect of inhibiting the enzyme alpha-glucosidase. Based on these researchers want to know the difference in effectiveness between the ethanol extract of purple eggplant skin  and acarbose to decrease blood sugar levels of mice. The study population using white rats with a total sample size of 30 rats. Research data analysis using One Way Anova Test. Methods: Male rats strain Wistar were divided into 5 groups. 1) Control (CMC Na 1 ml io), 2) Group 1  (The ethanol extract of 50 mg / kg in the CMC Na io),  3) Group 2  (The ethanol extract 100 mg / kg in CMC Na io), 4) Group 3  (the ethanol extract 200 mg / kg in the CMC Na io), 5) Group 4 (Acarbose 4.5 mg / kg in distillated water io). The result showed ethanol extract of purple eggplant skin in group 2 showed the best effectiveness in lowering blood sugar levels of white rats by oral sucrose injection. And there is no significant difference between the effectiveness of the ethanol extract of purple eggplant skin and acarbose in lowering blood sugar levels of white rats by oral sucrose injection.
