Abstract

ABSTRACT  This skripsi is entitled  ”Bentuk Permintaan Yang Sopan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Bolango : Suatu Analisis Kontrastif”. The problems in this research is what  are the forms of polite request in English and Bolango Language and, the similarities and difference between the two language. The research to be answered are the forms of polite request in English and Bolango language. In terms of methodology, this study the data collected through library research and field studies using descriptive method and contrastive analysis. The data of both languages are analyzed based on the theories of Leech. The result of the research shows that English and Bolango languages have similarities in the forms of polite request. This similarities, for example, can be found in the polite signer of each language. The polite signer of both languages have the same meaning. English and Bolango language have sentence patterns which are used to request the hearer to do something what speaker wants. Polite request forms of English and Bolango language have command,order,and teasing meaning for the hearer to do something. The differences of the polite request of the two language lie in their forms. Another difference is polite request pattern as an invitation to the hearer to do something with the speaker. Abstract

ABSTRAK  Penulisan ini mengambil topik tentang Sejarah Jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa (GMIM) Bukit Hermon Malalayang Kota Manado Tahun 1999-2016. Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: heuristik, kritik analisa, interpretasi, dan tahap terakhir ialah historiografi. Selain penulis menggunakan metode sejarah, dalam hal ini penulis juga menggunakan ilmu sosial sebagai alat bantu untuk memungkinkan penganalisaan dan penginterpretasian yang lebih tajam untuk menjawab apa yang menjadi masalah dalam suatu penulisan. Gereja yang mulai berkembang saat ini menunjukkan setiap perkembangan dari jemaat yang mendiami suatu permukiman sehingga didasari oleh jemaat untuk mendirikan suatu Jemaat. Ini merupakan suatu alasan bagi penulis untuk menulis sejarah GMIM Bukit Hermon. Melakukan identifikasi dan penelitian, penulis mendapat kesimpulan Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa khususnya jemaat Bukit Hermon.Kemudian terjadi pemekaran dari jemaat GMIM Kalvari Malalayang menjadi jemaat GMIM Bkit Hermon.  Kata Kunci : Sejarah Perkembangan, GMIM Bukit Hermon tahun 1999-2016

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Error Analysis of English in Status in the Social Media Facebook”, is an attempt to identify, classify, and analyze and describe the kinds of errors in the use of Social Media Facebook.  This research is expected to help in language development of and give information in order to increase knowledge to understand errors analysis especially in the Facebook. Ellis’s theory is used to identify, classify, and analyze the Error Analysis of English in Status in the Social Media Facebook.  This research used an error analysis which has been done in several stages preparation was made by reading status in the Facebook. Data was taken from Status in the Facebook. The writer use some techniques of analyzing the data, as follows, Identification of error, classification of error and analyze of error. The result of this research shows that there are 49 total data in the “status” on Facebook. The 3 kinds of error analysis in the theory of Ellis, which are Omission, Misinformation, and Misordering. This research is expected to be a benefit for everyone especially for those who interested in Applied Linguistics.    Keyword : Error Analysis, Status Social Media Facebook.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research entitled “Kata-kata Pinjaman Bahasa Inggris dalam Bahasa Indonesia pada Koran Harian Tribun Manado”.  The objectives of this research are to find out the types and the changes of the meanings of English loan words in Indonesian language. The writer uses the theory of Haugen (1950 : 214) to analyze the data and to find out the types, and Baugh’s (1993) theory to get the changes of the meanings. This research has been done by using descriptive method. The writer uses Oxford Dictionary and Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia to support the analysis.  The result of this research shows that there are 109 of loan words which are classified into three kinds of loan word. Based on the theory of Haugen, there are loan word without phonemic substitution, loan word with partial phonemic substitution, and loan word with complete phonemic substitution. The writer only finds two types of the changes of meaning that are, extention of meaning and narrowing of meaning.  Keyword: Loan Words, Change of Meaning, Sociolinguistic, Tribun Manado Newspaper

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This skripsi is entitled “Verbs in English and Tobelo Language: A Contrastive Analysis” The objectives of the research are to identify, classify, and analyze the verbs in English and Tobelo language based on the form, function and meaning; and then find out the similarities and difference according to Lado’s theory (1957). The theory used in this research, namely, Frank (1972) and arts and arts (1982). The data in English were collected from English Modern books whereas the data of Tobelo language were collected from informants as primary data and the secondary data were collected from internets. English and Tobelo language derived from different language families. English comes from the indo-European Language family. While Tobelo language from west Papuan language family. Therefore, this language have own characteristic. The result of this research showed that verbs in English and Tobelo language had the similarities in kinds of verbs and the differences between English and Tobelo Language of verbs.in English every kind of we have can get it in Tobelo language we have get some kinds of verb  Key words:  Verbs in English, Tobelo language and Contrastive Analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACTS This study  entitled “ Bentuk Permintaan Sopan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Tonsawang: Suatu Analisis Kontrastif” is aimed to be presented as a requirement for Sarjana Degree‟ at Faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University. The research question to be answered are what are the forms of polite request in english and Tonsawang language and are there any similarities and differences in both these two language. In terms of methodology, the writer uses the theory of Lado and Leech. This research has been done through field research and using descriptive method and contrastive analysis by Lado. Data of Tonsawang language are found by interviewing the native speakers of Tonsawang language who lived in Tombatu district. English data have been taken from some English book. The result of this reseacrh shows that English and Tonsawang Language have similarities, that English  and Tonsawang language have sentence patterns which are used to request the hearer to do something according to what the speaker wants. Abstract

ABSTRACTS This research is entitled “Deiksis Dalam Injil Markus (Analisis Pragmatik)”. There are 5 types of deixis, those are: person deixis (first person, second person, and third person), place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. Deixis belongs to pragmatics. The word deixis come from the Greek deiktikos, which means, „pointing‟. The objectives of this research are to identify and classify the types of deixis and to analyze the use of deixis in the Gospel of Mark. The method used in this research was is descriptive method. The data were identified, classified and analyzed descriptively. The data were analyzed based on Levinson theory. The result of this research shows there are five types of deixis that could be found in the Gospel of Mark. They are person deixis (first person: I, me, and our second person: you, your, you‟r brother‟s, and third person: he, his), place deixis: (home, marketplace, here, mountain, hometown, gethsemane, courtyard), time deixis: (when), discourse deixis: (that and this, and social deixis: tax collectors, disciples, The Lord, teacher). It is expected that this research will help the students and the other readers to learn the pragmatics aspect, especially about deixis.  Keyword : Deixis, Gospel of Mark, Pragmatics, Injil Markus.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research entitled “Afiks-Afiks Derivasi Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Talaud Dialek Nanusa (Suatu Analisis Kontrastif)”, aims at describing and analyzing the derivational affixes in English and Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect in term of form, function, and meaning in verb, noun, adjective and adverb. The objectives of this research is to find similarities and differences of derivational affixes in English and Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect by using William O‟Grady‟s (1987) theory and contrasting by using Lado‟s method.  This research used descriptive method. The data for English derivational affixes were collected from English textbook, namely Contemporary  Linguistic Analysis : An Introduction (1987) by O‟Grady and for Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect were taken from four native speakers as informants who were born and lived in Mamahan village, Talaud island.  The results of this research show either English or Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect has affixes of verb, noun, adjective and adverb derivation. Derivational affixes process in English through prefixes and suffixes while in Talauud language Nanusa‟s dialect through prefixes, infixes, suffixes and confixes.  Both English and Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect have derivational prefixes which have negative meaning. In context of proffesion or job, English derivational affixes process through suffixation; meanwhile, Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect through infixation.  Key Words : Derivational Affixes of English, Talaud language Nanusa‟s dialect,   Contrastive Analysis
