Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research entitled “Ellipsis in the Book of John” is written to identify, classify and analyze the kinds of ellipsis that found in the book of John. Ellipsis is the omitting of certain lingual units which have mentioned previously and the omitting elements are words, phrases, clauses or sentence. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data were taken from the book of John based on The Holy Bible New International Version. The writer uses a  theory of Aarts and Aarts (1982) to classify and analyze the kinds of ellipsis. The kinds of ellipsis found in the book of John are : ellipsis involving the subject only, ellipsis involving the subject and (part(s) of) the predicator, ellipsis involving, (part(s) of) the predicator, ellipsis involving (part(s) of) the predicator and a complement or adverbial and ellipsis involving a complement or an adverbial only. The writer also found the others kinds of ellipsis which is not included in the theory of Aarts and Aarts, they are : ellipsis involving the subject, predicator and complement, ellipsis involving the subject, adverb and predicator, ellipsis involving the subject that followed by adjective clause. Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research specifically discusses the type and function of speech acts of illocution contained in the speech of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama in Kepulauan Seribu, September 27, 2016. The method used in this research is descriptive method by using the substitution technique and the lesap technique. From the results of this study, the authors found 4 types of acts of ilokusi, namely assertive, directive, expressive, and komisif contained in the speech. The author then analyzes these sentences by using the subterfuge technique and the substitute technique to determine the function of the illocution actions contained therein. The function of the act of illocution that the author finds in assertive speech acts is stated, suggested, and claimed. The function of the directive speech acts the author finds is to advise, order, and order. The expressive act of speech acts that the author finds is to blame. The commissive speech act function that the author finds is promising. Keywords : Illuminative, Assertive, Directive, Expressive, Commissive.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian “ Skripsi “ ini Mengacu pada Sejarah Tempat Pelelangan Ikan ( TPI) di Tumumpa Kota Manado Tahun 1992-2016. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih jauh tentang bagaimana asal – usul berdirinya Tempat Pelelangan Ikan ( TPI ) di Tumumpa Kota Manado Tahun 1992 – 2016. Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu : Heuristik, Kritik analisa, Interprestasi, dan yang terakhir Historiografi. Metode sejarah ini sangat membantu penulis untuk dapat memperoleh data. Kemudian diklasifikasikan data yang mendukung permasalahan diolah dengan penafsiran menggunakan fakta-fakta sejarah, kemudian dilakukan penulisan sesuai permasalahan yang telah dirumuskan dan tujuan yang akan dicapai sehingga terwujudlah skripsi ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada faktor-faktor yang mendukung terjadinya Tempat Pelelangan Ikan di Tumumpa di sebabkan karena Tempat Pelelangan Ikan di Kali Jengki sudah tidak memadai lagi sehingga dialihkan di Tumumpa.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled "The Use of English Vocabulary in Manado Post Newspaper". The aims of this research are to describe the cause of the use of English vocabulary in Manado post Newspaper and to describe the function of English vocabulary in Manado post Newspaper. The data were collected from Manado Post Newspaper April to May 2016 edition. The method proposed by Sudaryanto that consist of three stages namely, data collection, data analysis, and data presentation was the research method. The data were collected by using translation and comprehend method, whichthe sentences in Manado post Newspaper that contain English vocabulary will be collected. Then,the data will be recorded by using noted method. The method of analysis in this study is to translate the English vocabulary into Indonesian or to find the equivalent vocabulary in the existing data. By doing so, it can be traced the reason and function of the collected and translated data. The results of the analysis showed that the use of English vocabulary because it is considered more practical, met the registers in the Indonesian and considered to have more semantis adequacy. The function of English vocabulary is to show identity and as a tool of cultural implementation. Keywords: Vocabulary, English, Function.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTION In dieser Untersuchung wird über die konduktive Äuβerung im Film Dschungelkind gesprochen. Diese Untersuchung ist eine pragmatische Analyse und hat das Ziel, um die konduktive Äuβerung im Film Dschungelkind zu identifizieren, zu klasifizieren, und zu beschreiben.  Die Datenquelle wird aus der Äuβerung des Schauspielers im Film aufgenommen. Die Schreiberin benutzt den pragmatischen Ansatz und deskriptive Methode, um die Daten zu analysieren. Als die theoretische Grundlage verwendet die Schreiberin die Meinungen von Austin (in Savigny 1989). Nach Austin besteht die konduktive Äuβerung aus Entschuldigungen, Dank, Mitgefühl, Einstellungen, Grüβe, Wünsche, Herausforderungen. Auβerdem haben achtunddreizig Anwendungen der konduktiven Äuβerungen.   Als die Schlüβfolgerung findet die Schreiberin sechs Arten und achtzehn Anwendungen der konduktiven Äuβerungen im Film Dschungelkind, nämlich 1) Dank: danken; 2) Mitgefühl: bedauern, Mitgefühl ausdrücken; 3) Einstellungen: kritisieren, klagen, murren, sich beschweren, verübeln, zustimmen, bereuen, loben, empfehlen, und verwerfen; 4) Grüβe: grüβen und willkommen heiβen; 5) Wünsche: wünschen und anstoβen; 6) Herausforderungen: gegen verwahren.   Stichwörter : die konduktive Äuβerung, der Film, die pragmatische Analyse.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research entitled Characteristic of Register Used in Advertisement on Instagram. Some problems that will be explained in this research are how is the characteristics of diction on advertisement on Instagram? And how is the code mixing on advertisement on Instagram?   This research aimed to describe the characteristics of diction and code mixing on advertisement on Instagram. The method used in this research is observation method which observes the use of language on advertisement on Instagram. The technic used is a recording technic with a recorder, a smartphone, by taking pictures of advertisements posts on phones screen.     The analyzing results of this research can be concluded as: the characteristics of diction showed on register used on advertisement on Instagram include : a) the used of foreign words, b) the use of slang words, c) the use of words with synonym, d) the use of special words, e) the use of idiom, f) the use of words or specific terms, and g) the use of dialectical  words. The use of those words is based on type of products being advertised, listeners age, gender, and the desire of advertisers to bring message or information of their advertisement with communicative language, brings modern and impressive impression, and easy to be understood by listeners. The used of the seven characteristics of diction is caused by dictions mentioned above be able to perform advertising language on social media especially Instagram, which is easy to be understood by readers, according to the type of advertised product, and be able to convey advertisement’s messaging precise to the advertisement’s target. Code mixing appeared on Instagram include: a) code mixing form word, b) code mixing form phrase, c) code mixing form baster, and d) code mixing form clause.   Keywords: Language used, register, Instagram.
