Abstract

ABSTRAK Penulisan ini mengambil topik tentang SejarahPerkembangan Kelurahan Taratara Kecamatan Tomohon Barat Kota Tomohon Tahun 1978-2014 . Dalam penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: heuristik, kritik analisa, interpretasi, dan tahap terakhir ialah historiografi. Selain penulis menggunakan metode sejarah, dalam hal ini penulis juga menggunakan ilmu sosial sebagai alat bantu untuk memungkinkan penganalisaan dan penginterpretasian yang lebih tajam untuk menjawab apa yang menjadi masalah dalam suatu penulisan. Taratara dua merupakan Kelurahan yang cukup berkembang. Karena awal masuk serta menetapnya masyarakat Sarongsong-Toumuung dan mendirikan desa bahkan sampai saat ini menjadi kelurahan, merupakan suatu alasan bagi penulis untuk menulis sejarah perkembangannya. Melakukan identifikasi dan penelitian, penulis mendapat kesimpulan Kelurahan Taratara Dua awalnya adalah wilayah perkebunan. Kemudian masuk sejumlah Tonaas (pimpinan adat) yang berasal dari Sarongsong-Toumuung dan tinggal di wilayah ini. Perkembangan selanjutnya pada bidang Ekonomi, Pendidikan, Pemerintahan dan Adat Istiadat.   Kata Kunci : Perkembangan, Desa/Kelurahan, Taratara Dua, Tomohon, 1978-2014

Abstract

This scientific paper contains about the development of the Minahasan press in the Netherlands’ colonial rule in the time of Dutch East Indies (of Indonesia). Explain about the origin of the press in Minahasa land when the newspaper of Tjahaja Sijang published since year 1869, about the development of the Minahasan press in Dutch East Indies, explain about develompment of the Minahasan press tandem with the national movement for freedom and for the independence of the Indonesia. Abstract

ABSTRACT This writing takes topic about the Silvan formative history LihunuLikupang's district Regency East Minahasa Is Year North 1925 2013. The explanation of this topic, the writer not only issued what happened in the year 1925, but also explain about the period before. In this writing writer utilizes to methodic consisting of history four phases, which is: Heuristic, Critical analysis, Interpretation, and last phase is Historiography. Besides utilize history method, in this case writer also utilize social's knowledge as tool helps to enable analyses and interpretation is sharper to answer what does become problem in a writing. Lihunu's village constitute village that its resident comes from Sangihe's tribe, On year 1900 get in three brotherses of Sangihe's Islands means their arrival be subject to be catch fishes at Lihunu'sSilvan waters. since first few input and makes a abode it Sangihe's society is gone upon on its happening density, looking for new region, looking for new employment, etcetera. They work as fisherman and farmer then experiencing a lot of good developing in economic area, pendidkan, governance, and tradition. Kata Kunci : Sejarah, Perkembangan Desa, Pembangunan Desa, Perubahan Sosial.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research, entitled “Error Analysis in The Use of Past Tense by Students of SMA Negeri 2 Manado,” is an attempt to identify, classify and analyze the kinds of errors in the use of past tense by students in Senior High School. This research is expected to give a contribution for the readers, in terms of understanding about the error analysis especially in the use of simple past tense. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Ellis’s theory is used to explain how to analyze the use of past tense by students in SMA Negeri 2 Manado. Data was taken from 48 students in XI MIA 2 and XI MIA 4 of SMA Negeri 2 by teaching and giving them several tests (fill in the blank, true or false and essay) containing simple past tense material. The result of this research shows that there are three kinds of errors made by students; there are omission, misinformation and misordering. Errors of omission made by students are omission verb ending (-ed, -d), did, not, regular and irregular verb, and to be. Errors of misinformation are regular and irregular verb, past form of irregular verb, to be, and to do. Errors of misordering are verb and object, subject, and time compliment. Key word : simple past tense, error analysis, omission, misinformation and misordering.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The title of this study is “The Use of Phrasal Verbs by the Students of SMA Negeri 2 Manado”. The main object of this study is the use of phrasal verbs by the XI grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Manado (Mathematics and Natural Sciences class). The method that has been applied by the writer in this research is descriptive method which has been done in several stages: preparation was made by reading the theory about phrasal verbs and goingto the school to get a picture of the English curriculum. Data collection was taken from 40 students of SMA Negeri 2 Manado, by giving them tests containing phrasal verbs. They are multiple choice, fill in the blank and true or false. The indentified data were analyzed by using simple statistic and qualitative method based on Furchon (1982). The result of the test is described by using some tables. The result of the analysis shows that the student’s difficulty in using phrasal verbs is high; that is only 36.8% of the students have right answer while 63.2% have wrong answer. The difficulty is caused by the misunderstanding of the meaning of phrasal verbs. Some of the students do not understand what the phrasal verbs are and how to use phrasal verbs in a sentences due to the minimum teaching of phrasal verbs in SMA Negeri 2 Manado.   Key words : phrasal verb, students, misunderstanding, use, presentage

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research attempts to identify, describe and analyze imperative sentences in the film ’The Great Gatsby” directed by Baz Luhrmann. The data are taken from the film, “The Great Gatsby” directed by Baz Luhrmann. The identified data are analyzed according to the concept of Aarts and Aarts on form and function of imperative sentences in communication. In analyzing the data, the writer uses descriptive method. The problems of this research focus on the forms and functions of imperative sentence found in the film “The Great Gatsby”. The results of this research show that the function of these entire imperative sentences found in the film are command, wish, invitation, and warning. The writer also finds the function of hope. Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research is entitled “Swear Words in the Movie A Good Day to Die Hard by Skip Woods”. In language, swear word is an important phenomenon to be analyzed because it can provide a deeper understanding about the unique of swear words and how they can communicate the emotion of the speaker to the listener. The objectives of this research are to identify and classify the categories of swear words and to analyze and describe the functions of swear words. This research uses a descriptive method. There are three steps to finish this research. First step is preparation, the writer watched the movie to find out the data. Second step is data collection, the writer read the printed script to get more accurate data and identified all the swear words then the writer listed them. Third step is data analysis, the writer used two theories, i.e.the theory ofMcEnery (2006:27) to identify and classify the categories of swear wordsand the theory of Anderssonand Hirsch (1985:53-56)to analyze and describe the functions of swear words. The results of this research show that there are 72 swear words found in A Good Day to Die Hard movie. According to the theory of McEnery (2006:27),  there are fifteen categories of swear words, but there were only seven categories of swear words found in this movie, those are Cursing Expletive, Emphatic Adverb, Figurative Extension, General Expletive, Idiomatic, ‘Pronominal’ Form, and Personal Insult. Furthermore, the functions of using swear words in this movie are Expletive, Abusive, Humoristic, Euphemistic, and Habitual. The findings of this research support the theory of McEnery and the theory of Andersson and Hirsch.   Keywords : Swear Words; A Good Day to Die Hard; McEnery, Andersson and Hirsch
