Abstract

Today, the homosexual phenomenon is prevalent among Indonesian society. This is marked by the increasing number of LGBT communities spread across Indonesia. Increased number of communities is triggered by the socialization/performances/ recording, either directly or indirectly, both in social media and mass media. The Stand Up Comedy broadcasted in mass media is rumored to contain content indicated in relation to the homosexual or LGBT phenomenon. This indirectly reflects the existence of the LGBT phenomenon, especially the homosexual phenomenon. With the material presented by comics stand up comics, comics show indications of a homosexual issue embodied in speech, gestures, and physical appearance. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the comics MG and GB display gesture, speech, or appearance that reflects the existence of homosexual issues are displayed.

Abstract

Meaningful learning is assumed as one of the solutions to overcome various problems in literacy teaching. Meaningful learning is the learning arranged in accordance with the cognitive structure of the students so as to facilitate students to understand new information with the cognitive structure they have. One is the culture and environment of everyday students that are integrated into the learning process. With teachers integrating culture into the learning process means teachers have carried out culturally responsive teaching. Culturally responsive teaching is learning that uses diverse cultural characteristics, experiences, and ethnic perspectives of students as a channel for more effective teaching. One culture that can be integrated into the learning process, especially writing poetry is a game of Joli-Joli which is a game of children in the Minangkabau area. Joli-Joli games are integrated into meaningful learning steps to become meaningful models of culturally responsive teaching. In addition to enriching the vocabulary needed in writing poetry, joli-joli game also contains Minangkabau cultural values that are instrumental in the formation of student attitudes and characters.

Abstract

Various environmental issues begin to be discussed widely and the movement of women does. Ecologists come up with new ideas that there is a strong relationship between women and nature. Ecofeminist spreads to various sectors in life. Starting from the industrial, economic and political sector that are intensively making the issue of women's relations and the environment as a matter of discussion. Related to literary works, ecofeminist is going with new ideas based on literary works t in Indonesia. Indonesian literature that presents the relation between women and nature as a form of an image of women concerning the environment.

Abstract

Product development in this article produces learning media to practice reading comprehension skill based RPG Game for beginner BIPA students. The model used in developing the product is the adaptation of Borg and Gall model. Adaptation of the model is done by converting ten stages into eight stages only. Based on product trial conducted, the final product validation result in BIPA experts is 98.44%, BIPA learning experts is 78.13%, and the learning media expert is 83.82 %. The final product validation result for BIPA students is 97.92% and 97.22%. Based on these results, the product is classified as very feasible and can be implemented.

Abstract

Kinara-Kinari relief in Badut Temple was one of the ideas to create a batik pattern inspired by a culture remnant in Malang. Previous research had generated the design of Kinara-Kinari batik pattern. According to validators, the batik pattern had met both aesthetic and artistic principles without abandoning the standards of the relief itself. Result of this development was implemented on a piece of batik cloth targeted for both men and women.

Abstract

Domination is basically at the social level. Dominance is everywhere here and is social. The function of dominance to influence the dominated party. The dominated party will carry out the orders and rules of the dominating party. Domination is done through the power of symbols. Symbols that can control individuals or, social groups. Through language as a means of communication, symbols emerge with unconscious power subtly entering the realm of reality. Domination also enters the arena of learning.

Abstract

This paper tries to identify the Ihsan behavior contained in the Kambing dan Hujan novel by Mahfud Ikhwan. Ihsan behavior is identified from the behavior of charity, patience, jihad, and fear. This paper uses a qualitative approach to examine representations of Ihsan behavior in the Goat and Rain novels. The steps of data analysis in this paper are divided into six specific stages, namely (1) processing and preparing data for the analysis process, (2) reading the entire data to find general meaning, (3) initiating data codification, (4) applying coding to describe the domains, participants, categories, and themes analyzed, (5) presentation of descriptions and themes in the form of narratives, and (6) making interpretations.
