Abstract

Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark has been inaugurated as the first global geopark in the West Java Province in April 2018. Since 2002, geotourism is the development model being chosen by the geopark management to popularize this geopark. This study aims at describing the influence of geotourism development on socio-cultural changes in people who live in the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark. This study uses qualitative methods in particular case study. Primary data  collection  include in-depth interviews and participant observation and secondary data was collected through archival studies. This study finds indications the socio-cultural changes of the communities living at the geopark area along with the development of geotourism. There is a change in the livelihoods form among the community members from peasant and fishermen to tourism businessmen. There is also  a growing of  local organizations working on  tourism management, revitalization of local traditional arts for tourism commodities, and the emergence of new patterns of social interaction between local communities and tourists.

Abstract

Tengger community in Ngadisari village maintains its values and tradition. One of it is the traditional ceremony led by Dukun Pandita. This study aims at describing the role, function, and leadership system of Dukun Pandita as part of the large social structure of the Tenggerese community of Ngadisari. This study applies qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participation observations, and secondary data collection. This study finds that Dukun Pandita has responsibilities and duties related to religious ritual and adat. He holds a crucial position in this context, and therefore his role and function in religious ceremonies is central, sacred, and pure; and his authority is charismatic.

Abstract

This study explores an economic and social empowerment activities by Kelompok Berani Binangkit (KBB), an informal organization for the people with disabilities in Bandung City. KBB activities focus on pegleg and pegarm production and selling to improve the members’s livelihood. KBB also has mission to donate pegleg and pegarm for the disabled who could not affort it. All of the KBB activities are initiated by the members.The study applies qualitative method; in particular case study model. Data were collected through participation observation towards KBB’s activities and in-depth interviews to its members. The study finds that the main purpose of KBB, that is to improve the livelihood of the members has not brought a significant impact to its members. The members’ income  is relatively small and does not sufficient for their living. Meanwhile social empowerment activities has brought  a significant impact to the member’s social lives. The KBB members build an emotional bond throught several ways such as spesific model of communication among them, and build self confidence as well as develop open-minded attitude regarding their physical condition and response towards negative stigma that attached to them. These have led KBB’s members construct their new identity, so they could feel ‘normal’.

Abstract

This research discusses community empowerment by Komunitas Celah-Celah Langit, Bandung. This research applied qualitative approach in particular auto-ethnography. Results of this research suggest that the empowerment process by Komunitas Celah-Celah Langit has been carried out through in three ways. First, by providing physical facilities such as a performance room, a library, and a discussion room to create people’s awareness of education through art. Second, by providing skill-based facilities, such as theater training in order to enhance people’s art creativity, especially theather. Third, by facilitating non-art self-improvement for people, such as cultural, education, and environmental awareness.

Abstract

Consuming Music in the Digital Age merupakan buku yang dapat membantu pembaca untuk memahami manusia melalui musik. Musik di dalam buku ini dipandang sebagai sesuatu yang selalu berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Buku ini membahas cara manusia menggunakan musik dan peran musik dalam kehidupan pendengarnya. Penggunaan musik ditelusuri melalui teknologi musik era digital yang digunakan oleh para pendengar. Teknologi musik diartikan sebagai suatu alat yang digunakan untuk menulis, merekam, memproduksi, memasarkan, dan mendengarkan musik. Contoh dari teknologi musik yang sering disebutkan pada buku ini adalah iPod, Vinyl, mp3, radio, handphone, dan laptop. Kaitan antara musik, teknologi musik, dan kehidupan sehari-hari tersebut dilihat dari sudut pandang sosiologi musik.

Abstract

The number of female soldiers (KOWAD) in Dinas Jasmani Angkatan Darat (Disjasad) are less than their counterparts. Thus, made female soldiers applying a unique approach of adjustment upon entering the male dominated environment. This research aims to describe the deep understanding of the patterns and procces of adjustment of female soldiers at Disjasad. Research methods used in this research is qualitative methods with an ethnography model.The result shows that masculine environment in Disjasad did not affect the female soldiers, due to the ask division which feminin chore such as in administration, medical and health divisions. Every female soldiers had applied unique way of adjusment and their patterns of adjustments are conformity and ritualism upon addressing regulation in army headquarters. The patterns of adjustment are influenced by internal factor which are personality, ability, character and external factor such as cultural gap, previous job as well as gender.

Abstract

Buku berjudul Kota untuk Semua: Ide Penataan Kota yang Komprehensif ini berjumlah sembilan bab dan dilengkapi dengan foto hampir di tiap halamannya. Rincian paling banyak di antara bab-bab tersebut terdapat pada Bab 7 dikarenakan memiliki tujuh sub-bab. Sementara itu, bab paling sedikit rinciannya terdapat pada Bab 9, yaitu hanya memiliki dua sub-bab.  Bab-bab lainnya hanya memiliki tiga sampai enam sub-bab.    Buku ini membahas permasalahan serta elemen-elemen yang ada di sebuah kota untuk menghasilkan pemikiran akan penataan kota yang komprehensif. Selain itu, buku ini menjabarkan berbagai bangunan di kota beserta tinjauan dan solusi permasalahannya. Buku ini merupakan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh penulis maupun peneliti lain di Indonesia maupun di luar negeri. Selain itu juga terdapat gabungan berbagai kajian pustaka dan teori.
