Abstract

Soy sauce is one of the food additives commonly added to food . The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of benzoic acid compounds contained in soy sauce Manado city product. Samples were taken from four brands of soy sauce on the four markets in the city of Manado . Identification of the samples was done by FeCl3.Analysis of benzoic acid content using UV-Vis spectrophotometry methode with wavelength of 280 nm. The results showed that four samples of soy sauce using as preservative benzoic acid about 18,59 mg/kg, 20,32 mg/kg, 19,97 mg/kg dan 21,46 mg/kg. Benzoic acid in the sample does not exceed the predetermined threshold in PERMENKES RI No.  722/Menkes/Per/IX/88.   Key words : Benzoic, soy sauce, UV - Vis spectrophotometry, Manado

Abstract

This study to prove the ethanol extract of the Mahkota Dewa skin fruit has antiinflammatory effects on foot edema white male rats by induced 5 % solution of white egg and determine ethanol extract dose from Mahkota Dewa Skin Fruit that most effective for decrease the volume of foot edema white male rats induced 5 % solution of white egg . This study used 15 white male rats and divided into 5 groups, negative control group (aquadest), positive control group (natrium diclofenac), treatment group (ethanol extract of Mahkota Dewa Skin Fruit dose 140mg/200gBB , 280mg/200gBB , 420mg/200gBB . after oral gived, the rat foot edema made by  induced of a 5% solution of white egg . Rat foot Volumes measured every 1 hour for 7 hours . Based on the results of the study , the ethanol extract of Mahkota Dewa Skin Fruit with a dose 140mg/200gBB have antiinflammatory Effects 16,91 %, 280mg/200gBB by 18.87 % and 420mg/200gBB by 19.09 % and the most effective dose to decrease the volume of foot edema white male rats from ethanol extract of Mahkota Dewa Skin Fruit at doses 420mg/200gBB that have antiinflammatory Effects 19,09 %.   Key words : Antiinflammatory, edema, Phaleria macrocarpa Boerl

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out the quality of 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% ointments from black mangrove extract, and the healing effect of infected wound on rabbit back skin. Extraction of black mangrove was done by maceration. Ointments were tested by organoleptics, homogeneityt and pH. Test of healing effectivity was done using 5 categories, that is chloramphenicol ointments (positive control), basic ointments (negative control), black mangrove ethanol ointments extract 4%, black mangrove ethanol ointments extract 6%, black mangrove ethanol ointments extract 8%, black mangrove ethanol ointments extract 10% against infected wound of experiment rabbits, which done in 7 days. Data was analyzed using One Way ANOVA (Analysis Of Variance) and continued with LSD (Least Significant Different). The result shows that the basic ointments and the black mangrove ethanol ointments extract 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% meet the quality standard by homogeneity test, organoleptic test, pH test, but did not meet saturate requirements of dispersive power test. Black mangrove ethanol extract ointments 10% possess high activity of wound healing, followed with 8%, 6%, and 4% black mangrove ethanol ointments extract.   Key words : Rhizophora mucranata Lamk, ointments, infected wound, rabbit
