Abstract

In increasing latex production, the government recommends the use of superior clones in the form of rubber plant stumps, but the drawback is that vegetative growth is not optimal if the treatment is not appropriate, especially the mortality percentage of buds from budding buds from grafting is quite high due to poor microclimate, poor of nutrients, soil water content and low phytohormones. Therefore, a humectant material that contains nutrients is needed as well as being able to store water properly. Stimulation of vegetative growth can be stimulated by the administration of growth regulators. This study aims to compare the effect of various humectants with the addition of various solutions of growth regulators. The experimental design used a factorial completely randomized design with treatment using solid waste rubber crumbs, solid decanter, and chicken manure as humectants with each dose of 200 g which was doused with a solution of growth regulators, namely coconut water, onion, and leri solution with volume 200 ml per day. The results showed that there was a positive interaction between 200 g crumb rubber solid waste and coconut water solution on the increase in shoot height and the growth of the number of rubber umbrellas. The application of crumb rubber solid waste with leri was able to stimulate the formation of denser leaves. Application of chicken manure with coconut water solution stimulates lateral root growth.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPertumbuhan dan produksi sawi pakchoy (B. chinensis L.) pada tanah gambut di Kalimantan Barat masih rendah, salah satunya disebabkan pH tanah yang masam dan kurang tersedianya hara bagi tanaman. Penambahan pupuk trichokompos kotoran bebek diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi sawi pakchoy. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pupuk trichokompos kotoran bebek terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi sawi pakchoy serta konsentrasi pupuk trichokompos kotoran bebek yang memberikan hasil terbaik untuk pertumbuhan sawi pakchoy. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 taraf perlakuan yaitu A= 0 (Kontrol); B = 80 g/1,6 kg; C = 100 g/1,6 kg; D = 120 g/1,6 kg; dan E = 140 g/1,6 kg. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan uji Duncan dengan taraf kepercayaan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk trichokompos kotoran bebek berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah akar (helai), jumlah daun (helai), luas daun (cm2), berat basah total (g), dan berat kering total (g). Perlakuan pupuk trichokompos             140 g/1,6 kg adalah perlakuan yang memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap semua parameter pengamatan dengan jumlah akar 24,2 helai, jumlah daun 29,8 helai, luas daun 78,94 (cm2), berat basah total 244,7 g dan berat kering total 37,14 g.ABSTRACTThe growth and production of mustard pakchoy (B. chinensis L.) on peat soils in West Kalimantan is still low, one of which is due to the pH of sour soil and the lack of nutrient availability for plants. The addition of trichocompos fertilizer duck manure is expected to increase the growth and production of mustard pakchoy. This study aims to find out the influence of duck manure trichocompos fertilizer on the growth and production of mustard pakchoy and the concentration of trichokompos fertilizer duck manure which provides the best results for the growth of mustard pakchoy. The study used a Complete Random Design with 5 levels of treatment, namely A = 0 (Control); B = 80 grams / 1.6 kg; C = 100 grams / 1.6 kg; D = 120 grams / 1.6 kg; and E = 140 grams / 1.6 kg. The data was analyzed using ANOVA and continued duncan test with a confidence level of 5%. The results showed that the provision of trichocompos fertilizer duck manure had a real effect on the number of roots (strands), the number of leaves (strands), the area of the leaves (cm2), the total wet weight (grams), and the total dry weight (grams). Trichocompos fertilizer treatment of 140 grams / 1.6 kg is the treatment that gives the best results against all observation parameters with the number of roots 24.2 strands, the number of leaves 29.8 strands, the leaf area 78.94 (cm2), the total wet weight 244.7 grams and the total dry weight 37.14 grams.

Abstract

ABSTRAKUntuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah khususnya pada lahan persawahan yang baru dibuka perlu dilakukan penambahan bahan organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil beberapa genotipe padi lokal dalam merespon aplikasi pupuk organik pada lahan bukaan baru di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Penelitian ini disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu pemberian pupuk organik (kontrol 0 g perplot-1, 3,5 g perplot, 7,07 g perplot, 10,60 g perplot) dan genotipe padi lokal (padi putih, padi kuning, padi merah). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor perlakuan pupuk organik lebih berpengaruh, sedangkan genotipe tunggal dan perlakuan interaksi tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap parameter yang diamati. Pemberian pupuk PIM organik dapat memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah anakan, perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P3 dengan nilai rata-rata 32,96 anakan. Jumlah anakan produktif terbaik pada perlakuan P2dengan nilai rata-rata 28,15 batang. Sedangkan berat gabah kering terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P3 dengan nilai rata-rata 33,98 g/rumpun.ABSTRACTTo improve the soil fertility, especially in new opening rice field, there is need to add organic material. This research aims to know the growth and yield of some local rice genotypes in response to application of organic fertilizer on new opening field in Kuantan Singingi District. This study was arranged in a factorial Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) that consisted of two factors, namely organic fertilizer application (i.e., control 0 g plot-1, 3.5 g plot-1, 7.07 g plot-1, 10.60 g plot-1) and local rice genotypes (padi putih, padi kuning, padi merah). The results showed that fertilizer organic factors were more influential, while single genotype and interaction treatments did not show significant effect on the observed parameters. The application of organic PIM fertilizer can have a significant effect on the number of tillers, the best treatment is P3 with an average value of 32.96 tillers. The number of the best productive tillers on P2 treatment with an average value of 28.15 stems. Meanwhile, the best dry grain weight value was found in the P3 treatment with an average of 33.98 grams/clump.

Abstract

Gulma merupakan salah satu faktor pembatas bagi produksi tanaman. Pengendalian gulma secara kimiawi memiliki dampak negatif secara ekologi, ekonomi dan sosial. Pengendalian gulma secara biologis seperti penggunaan tanaman penutup tanah (cover crops) atau biomulsa (biomulch) atau mulsa hidup (living mulch) dapat menjadi alternatif pengendalian gulma yang lebih ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan. Arachis pintoi merupakan tanaman dari keluarga kacang-kacangan yang memiliki sifat-sifat yang cocok untuk dijadikan sebagai biomulsa atau pada lahan budidaya tanaman. A. pintoi memiliki beberapa kelemahan terkait dalam penggunaannya sebagai biomulsa, namun dapat diatasi dengan pengelolaan yang benar. A. pintoi sama halnya dengan tanaman penutup tanah pada umumnya menekan gulma melalui penekanan perkecambahan, pertumbuhan, perkembangan dan pengurangan seed bank dengan beberapa mekanisme yaitu kompetisi, alelopati dan asosiasi dengan mikroba tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sebelumnya ditemukan bahwa A. pintoi efektif menekan gulma 42-98% dan secara umum A. pintoi lebih efektif menekan gulma berdaun lebar dibandingkan gulma berdaun sempit.

Abstract

Bananas are a tropical fruits commodity that is very popular with various groups of people. High nutritious bananas, contain fiber that helps smooth the metabolic system and increase the body's resistance from free radicals. The research was conducted in the BBI Lebak Bulus South Jakarta, February to April 2018. The purpose of the study was to obtain planting media and chitosan concentration and determine the effect of the interaction of planting media and optimal chitosan concentration on vegetative growth of Kepok banana seedlings. The design used was a two factorial randomized factorial pattern group design. The first factor, namely M1 (soil and manure = 1: 1) and M2 (soil, manure and cocopeat = 1: 1: 1). The second factor is the concentration of chitosan C1 (without chitosan), C2 (2 mL L water-1), C3 (4 mL L water-1), C4 (6 mL L water-1) and C5 (8 mL L water-1), repeated four times. The parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width, and number of leaves. The results showed a combination of M2 planting media and chitosan concentration of 8 mL L water-1 showed the highest plant height, largest stem diameter, longest leaf length, widest leaf width, and highest number of leaves. The interaction of M2 planting media and chitosan concentration of 8 mL L water-1 showed the longest leaf length, widest leaf width, and the highest number of leaves. The implementation can be done carried out in research on loam, sandy loam or sandy soil with sufficient nutrient availability and water.

Abstract

Indonesia has a great taro diversity and had been utilized for long time. Taro has more competitiveness including high nutrition, wide adaptation, and ease for cultivation, further, it’s very potential to be the future food and create new economical value. The objective of the research was to obtain the organic manure fertilizer effect on sutra taro variety growth and yield. The research was conducted for eight months from January till August 2021 at Leuwikopo Farm, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University. A Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with five replications and four-level organic manure treatments (0.25 kg, 0.5 kg, 0.75 kg, and 1.00 kg per plant) was applied. Taro growth, corm characters, and yields were affected by organic manure fertilizer dose. The dose of 0.75-1.00 kg/plant (equivalent to 15-20 ton/ha) showed the highest growth, corm characters and yields more than the lower doses. Taro “Sutra variety” cultivation by fully using organic manure fertilizers is very potential to be encouraged.
