Abstract

Indonesian traditional medicine has long been known and used by the community in maintaining health and treating illnesses. Identification of Escherichia coli bacteria was chosen because this bacterium is an indicator of sanitation and an unsanitary environment in the process of making traditional medicines. The purpose of this study was to determine the contamination of Escherichia coli bacteria in traditional medicines sold at the Beringharjo Traditional Market. This study was an experimental study. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. culture technique on Echerichiae coli bacteria using TBX Agar Media and the Total Plate Number test using PCA. Bacterial analysis can be done by observing the culture media and test media on traditional medicine samples. The results of the ALT values were 70 ± 14,1 x 101  CFU/ml to 14,9 ± 1,2  x 105  CFU/ml and the Escherichia Coli Identification Test was negative or 0 colonies/g. the specified conditions refer to PerBPOM No. 32 of 2019. It can be concluded that in the ALT test of ten products, 80% of them have met the requirements and 20% of them do not meet the requirements. In the Escherichia Coli Identification Test, out of ten samples, all 100% of the samples met the requirements.

Abstract

Abstract

Purple leaves contain flavonoids as anti-inflammatory. Aloe vera contains lignin compounds as bioenchancers. Utilization of these two plants in the form of topical emulgel preparations with the hope of being able to reach the systemic circulation. This study aims to formulate purple leaf extract and aloe vera extract in the form of an emulgel. The formula was made in 4 variations with concentrations of aloe vera extract F0 (0%), F1 (2.5%), F2 (3%), F3 (3.5%). Quality parameters include organoleptic, pH, spreadability, viscosity, cycling test, and penetration test using cell diffusion method franz. The results showed that the aloe vera extract emulgel formulation had good physical quality, namely organoleptic viscous green color, characteristic aromatic odor, pH 4.66-5.01, spreadability 5.63-6.03 cm2, viscosity 8100-9100 cPs. The results of the stability cycling test did not show changes in organoleptic and pH of the preparation, while the viscosity of the preparation decreased. Penetration test results based on statistical analysis of purple leaf extract emulgel obtained p> 0.05, which means that the addition of aloe vera extract bioenhancer did not have a significant effect on the value of the cumulative amount and flux. Keywords: emulgel, bioenchancer, penetration, franz diffusion cell

Abstract

Inflammation can occur due to insect bites, toxins, burns and blows. Inflammation can be cured using Non-Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (OIANS). Fragrant pandan root is thought to have anti-inflammatory activity because it contains alkaloids and flavonoid compounds. This study aims to determine the activity and characteristics of anti-inflammatory compounds from extracts, fractions and isolates of ethyl acetate root of fragrant pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) against carrageenan-induced foot edema of mice. The process of isolation of fragrant pandan roots includes stages such as maceration, partitioning and chromatography. The results of the study The methanol extract had good activity at a dose of 200 mg/kg BB for a period of time (t3) 51.7%; the methanol fraction had good activity at a dose of 200 mg/kg BB in the time span (t3) 38.2%; the ethyl acetate fraction had good activity at a dose of 200 mg/kg BB over a period of time (t3) 56.9%; the dichloromethane fraction had good activity at a dose of 200 mg/kg BB in the time range (t3) 59.2%; the n-Hexane fraction had good activity at a dose of 200 mg/kg BB for a period of time (t3) 37.1%; and isolates had good activity at a dose of 50 mg/kg BB over a period of time (t3) 35.6%. K2 isolate from the ethyl acetate fraction was characterized using 1H-NMR with DMSO solvent at a frequency of 500 MHz and 13C-NMR with DMSO solvent at a frequency of 125 MHz. K2 isolate from the ethyl acetate fraction had similarities to Pandalisines A.
